Safe trading guide

Every trade here is between two members. The platform never holds your money, so the way you stay safe is by keeping the whole trade on the platform and following the steps below.

1. Keep the whole trade on the platform

Offers, acceptance, PayNow details, handover codes, tracking numbers, ratings and disputes all live on the trade page. If something goes wrong, the admin can see exactly what was agreed and when. A chat that moved to Telegram or WhatsApp leaves no trail we can act on.

  • Message the other member through the listing or trade page, not through a phone number.
  • Never share your PayNow details in a chat. The platform reveals the seller’s PayNow only once both sides have agreed a price.
  • Someone who insists on leaving the platform “to make it faster” is asking you to give up your protection.

2. PayNow only after the trade is agreed

When a buyer buys now or a seller accepts an offer, the trade moves to Agreed and the seller’s PayNow name and number appear on the trade page. Pay that name, for that amount, and then tap “I have paid” on the trade page so the seller is notified.

  • Check the PayNow recipient name matches the seller’s registered PayNow name shown on the trade page before you confirm the transfer.
  • Never pay a “deposit” or “pre-order” before a trade exists on the platform.
  • For meet-ups, most members pay at the table after inspecting the card; that is fine as long as the trade is already Agreed here.

3. Meet-up: inspect, then use the handover code

Each meet-up trade has a one-time handover code that only the buyer can see. When the buyer is happy with the card, they read the code out; the seller enters it on their trade page and the trade moves to Handed over. That is the record that the card changed hands.

  • Meet in a public place with good light: MRT station concourses, malls and card shops in the listed meet-up areas.
  • Look at the card out of the sleeve if the seller allows it: edges, corners, surface, holo pattern and the back.
  • Do not give the handover code until the card is in your hand. The seller should not hand over the card until they hear it.

4. Mailing: tracked, sleeved, photographed

Mailed trades should always use a tracked service (SingPost Registered, SmartPac, or a courier). The seller enters the tracking number on the trade page; the buyer confirms receipt after checking the card. Untracked mail is an argument nobody can win.

  • Sleeve, toploader, then a rigid mailer. Photograph the card and the sealed packet before sending.
  • Buyers: film the unboxing for anything valuable. Report a problem on the trade page within the confirmation window instead of paying first and hoping.

5. Graded slabs: verify the certificate

A slab is only as trustworthy as its certificate. Every graded listing here carries the grader, grade and certificate number. Before paying, look the certificate up on the grader’s own site and make sure the card, set, number and grade match what you are holding or being shown.

  • PSA: psacard.com/cert · BGS: beckett.com/grading/cert · CGC: cgccards.com/certlookup · TAG: my.taggrading.com · ACE: acegrading.com
  • Check the label font, hologram and case seams. Re-sealed or tampered cases are a common problem with high-value slabs.
  • Population-report mismatches (a “PSA 10” with a cert that shows a 9) mean walk away.

6. The scam pattern the Police keep warning about

Singapore Police Force advisories describe the same trading card scam again and again: a listing at a great price, the seller asks to “continue on Telegram”, then requests a PayNow transfer for a pre-order, a deposit, or to “lock in” a sealed box that is arriving next week. The money is sent, the account goes quiet, and the card never existed.

  • This platform has no pre-orders and no deposits. If it is not a catalogue card the seller physically has now, it cannot be listed.
  • Moving to Telegram, WhatsApp or Carousell chat removes every protection above. Report the member from their profile instead.
  • If you have already transferred money, call the Police hotline 1800-255-0000 or file at police.gov.sg, and tell your bank immediately.
  • Check the ScamShield app and the Police anti-scam helpline 1799 if you are unsure about a deal.

7. What the platform fee is

The platform does not touch the sale money. After a trade is completed, a small service fee is recorded on the trade: 2% of the price, with a minimum of S$1, owed by the buyer unless the admin sets it otherwise. It is paid separately by PayNow to the operator, never bundled into the seller’s transfer. This is what keeps the exchange running and the operator outside the money-transfer rules.

  • The fee amount and the operator’s PayNow appear on the completed trade page. Nobody will ever message you asking for it.
  • Swaps with no cash on either side carry no fee.
